It has gained immense popularity for its beauty and elegance, which accompanies all skin tones. Rose gold is an alloy of pure gold and base metals that combine to reflect a pink-rose color. Accent Rose Gold™ is an 18k alloy that enables artists to add soft rose gold hues to silver jewelry easily and affordably. Accent Rose Gold™ was recently developed, and is now made and marketed, by Jewelry Material Innovations, Inc. It is used in the form of a powder that is mixed with water to form an aqueous paste, or slip. After the slip has been applied to an article and then air dried, the article is fired in activated carbon to form a sintered layer that, when burnished and then polished, reveals a beautiful rose gold tone. Accent Rose Gold™ can be readily applied to all varieties of silver clay: fine, sterling, 960, and flex. It can also be applied to cast and wrought jewelry of all shapes, both on flat surfaces and regions of detailed design. The preferred method of finishing is burnishing followed by tumbling.
